New American Girl Goodies!

Okay, I know that everyone is going to be talking about this today, but I was so excited to see all of the new stuff, I couldn't resist adding my 2 cents. ;)  For those of you who don't know, American Girl has tons of new releases up on their website, including 2 new My AG dolls, 3 new mini dolls, and lots of new outfits and accessories.  My daughters and I have been oohing and aahing all morning. ;)

Here are a few of our favorites:

My oldest daughter literally squealed when she saw this doll.  The hairstyle is almost exactly like hers (minus the little side bangs).  The eyes are the wrong color, but my daughter informed me that we could just do an eye swap with a blue-eyed doll. ;)  Actually, Marie-Grace's eyes would be about the perfect color.

This doll looks like my youngest daughter, minus the freckles (plus, my daughter doesn't actually have this much hair...she's only 3 and it's still pretty wispy).  We thought she was a cutie, though.

My middle daughter doesn't have a My AG that looks like her, but it doesn't bother her since her absolute favorite is Cecile. :)

It's always fun seeing the new holiday minis.  This month, two of them were released:  Julie and Rebecca.

While I'm not a big fan of Julie's Christmas dress, I still think she's a cutie.  Hmm, maybe Rachel needs a Christmas doll. ;)

I absolutely ADORE mini holiday Rebecca.  I love her Hanukkah dress and her head bow.  I already have the regular mini Rebecca, but this one is still seriously tempting. :)

I was so excited to discover they made a mini Ivy!  I've been wanting an Asian doll but don't have room to add another 18" one (since I'm already planning on adding My AG #55 eventually).  Ivy's hideous outfit would come off immediately, but I love the doll herself. :)

Here is the new "Merry and Bright" Christmas outfit (I know they call it a "holiday" outfit, but I prefer to call it a Christmas one, myself).  I like it better without the scarf and gloves, but below you'll see a picture of the whole ensemble.

I do think the little snowman snow globe is really cute. :)

I LOVE this grand piano!  I just wish it wasn't $150.  I took piano lessons for 9 years, so the piano is dear to my heart.  I would love to have this for my dolls.  It will only happen if I suddenly become independently wealthy, though. ;)

I really liked the Cozy Sweater Outfit, too.  I like the color and the fact that the sweater doesn't have "Innerstar U" plastered all over it. :}

I thought the Frosty Party Outfit was cute, too.  I wish it was an actual silver dress with a sweater over it instead of a sweater and skirt, but it's still nice. :)

I had to come back and add the Sleepover Accessories.  While they are way overpriced at $28, I just love the mini Apples to Apples game!   Maybe someday I'll find this on the secondary market. :)

So, what are your favorite new releases?  Was your morning filled with as much joyful squealing as mine was? ;)  Be sure to stop by americangirl.com and see all of the new goodies for yourself. :)

  4. I love new stuff! :D I agree with you about the Merry and Bright Christmas outfit, it's better without the scarf thingy. I love the sleepover accessories, but it is waaaay overpriced.

  5. ooohhhh we found several things that we might want but are waiting until we go to the store to see them before we decide what we are going to buy ..

    Mama soooo wants the piano .. she just got the money for it and called the day after it retired the first time .. Nana says to get it because Mama wanted it sooooo bad but Mama is waiting to see if she thinks it is THAT cute .. $150 is a horrible price but we have wanted one for years and years

    We want the sleep over accessories too .. everything is getting so high now it is hard to afford any of their stuff ..

  6. hehe, we love the new girlies as well! I think the only reason A.G. didn't make the skirt that comes with the "Frosty Party Outfit" a dress is because in '09, they made a holiday tank dress that looks crazily like that!(I would know, I have it!;) We're not huge fans of the outfit anyway, but the "Merry and Bright Outfit" is a total winner, especially the little accessories!(It seems like no one is a fan of the scarf/caplet thingy like we are) Gah, that piano is gorgeous! I'm pretty sure no one will buy that right now, but maybe a lucky little girl will get it for Christmas, who knows!!(We defiantly won't be though! LOL) We love the ballet outfit much more than we did the old one!(Again, are we the only lovers of tutus?) The Cozy Sweater outfit is ADORABLE, even Rachel Noel's mother loves it! The Sweet School outfit is a bit if-y, so we'll have to look at it a bit more! LOL Coconut's PJs are cute as well! Lastly, Toasty and the sleepover accessories are adorable as well! We're planning on doing a blog post soon as well!
    Sincerely,
    Rachel Noel
    P.S. We pre-ordered Mare-Grace last night after we got payed! We're extremely excited to be receiving her and will post lots of photos upon her arrival!

  7. Hi everyone! Thanks for commenting. :)

    I must agree on the prices. Most AG things I wait to purchase until they come to the secondary market...although sometimes that doesn't help with the way people price things on eBay. :} It's a shame everything is so expensive. It makes it tough for the doll collector working from an average income. :( And when you have 3 daughters who all like different things, it makes it even tougher!

  8. P.S. American Girl Dolls Rock, I'm glad you enjoy the music. Tangled is one of my favorite movies too (duh, like you didn't know that). ;)

    Also, Katie, I was telling my hubby about the sleepover accessories and their price. His question was: "How much is the full-sized game? It couldn't be more than $25." Pretty outrageous that the mini game costs more than the real thing. :}

  10. Ooh, I would love to see a post on the piano. Then I could drool over it even more. ;) And yes, my girlies are pretty cute (if I do say so myself). :)

  11. I must admit... I will eventually have to have the sleepover set for Apples to Apples. =) I like the sweater outfit too. The piano looks lovely and amazing, but I couldn't afford that sort of thing.

  12. Hi Lucy. I love Apples to Apples, too. It's very tempting. ;) And I agree on the piano, too. It's pretty spendy!

  13. I am like, really thinking about getting curly top doll. The one that you posted looks like your 3 year old. :) I think I would name the doll bobby. :)

  14. I had a great-aunt named Bobby. :) I think it was short for Roberta. She even had curly hair, but it was reddish-brown instead of blonde. :)

  15. Just a quick note, it is actually easier (for me) that the Frosty Party Outfit is a separate sweater and skirt because they can mix and match.

    Thanks,
    Em

  16. I've just found your blog, and have enjoyed reading through it. I just wanted to let you know that at Walmart, they have mini Apples to Apples games that are about the same size as your mini Uno game. They actually have all of the words that are on the real cards printed teeny tiny on all of the cards. Just letting you know in case you were still interested in Apples to Apples for your dolls. :D

  17. Hi Anonymous. Thanks for stopping by! :) Thanks for the tip on the mini Apples to Apples game, too. I've kept my eye out for one ever since this post. I'll have to stop by Walmart and see if I can find one! :)
