If you guys are anything like me, then you are eagerly awaiting the release of Disney/Pixar's next animated film "Brave", scheduled to hit theaters this June. I can't wait to see what they do with this story. :D
I was super excited when I checked online this morning and found that Disneystore.com had finally gotten in some "Brave" merchandise (aside from the 2 children's t-shirts fearturing Merida that they've had for a while). You can check out the new stuff HERE.
I love the Merida 12" doll, and the deluxe figure play set has some promise, although I'd like to see it in person first. Sometimes the Disney Store does a great job with their figure play sets (I LOVE the Hawaiian Toy Story set!), and sometimes they just don't quite get it right (I despise the Princess figure playset...bad face paint, weird face molds...the works!).
Which of the new items are your favorite? Are you planning on seeing "Brave" when it comes out? :)
I want to see this movie so bad!!!! For my birthday, I want the 12 inch Merida.

That Merinda Doll is ADORABLE. How did they make her so cute? That doll I have to get. She seems a lot like me. Quirky , independent, and determined. My dad even wants to see that movie, so hopefully I will see it in the theaters.
ReplyDeleteI think so too! :) I've been so impressed with the dolls from the Disney Store in the past few years. It used to be that Mattel did a better job on their dolls. Now it's switched. I much prefer the Disney Store dolls to the Mattel versions. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to see the movie. Hubby and I are planning on seeing it for our anniversary this summer (which I've probably mentioned numerous times on this blog before). :} The only thing that concerns me is Merida's disrespectful attitude towards her mother. I hope that their relationship will be resolved in the movie, but I'm not too concerned. Looking at Pixar movies in the past and the messages they normally promote makes me think that will probably be one of the main themes of the story. :)
I was also very excited to see the new Brave merchandise on the website today. The Disney store dolls are my favorites, I really don't like the Mattel versions at all. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the $10 for $20 classic dolls are made. The Merida seems to be just as well put together and I love that she comes with a bow and arrow.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I plan on taking our son to his first in-theater movie to see Brave this summer. We'll get a sitter for our daughter, 1 and a half is still too young for movies. :) The Little Mermaid was my first real theater movie and I want to carry the Disney tradition on with my children. Hopefully, Brave lives up to its expectations and we have fond memories of the experience!
I am sooo seeing Brave! I obsess over every bit of merchandise and squeal at every commercial. :) I love the Merida doll, and might get AG JLY 33 and name her Merida. Yeah, I'm that obsessed.

Yay! :) It's nice to know there are other fans out there. :)
ReplyDeleteHeather, one of the first Disney movies I remember seeing in theaters was "The Little Mermaid", too! :) I think I saw "Oliver and Company" first, but I was definitely more excited by Ariel's story.
Emma, I think JLY 33 would be a great Merida! :)
I know I already commented, but I want to ask your opinion. Tomorrow we are probally going to the mall and the Disney store. I wrote and writing stories about those toddler princess dolls. I am thinking about writing about all of them as toddlers, and showing the Disney store. I even am writing one about the brave doll! Do you think I should show the Disney store, because I am ten and really, REALLY want to be an author and I love Disney animator dolls and that brave doll... well any Disney princesses! :-) All Ag
ReplyDeleteHi again, All AG. :) Don't worry about commenting again...I don't mind! ;)
ReplyDeleteYour idea about writing stories about the princesses as toddlers sounds like a great one. :) I know that often there are certain channels you have to go through if you're interested in having a company publish your stories, so you may not be able to get in touch with the proper person at the Disney Store. However, they are normally really supportive and love to encourage young talent, so I don't think it would be a problem to show them. Maybe you could ask one of the Disney Store employees if they knew who you should talk to about your stories. They might be able to point you in the right direction. :)
Have a great weekend. How fun that you get to go to the Disney Store! :D The nearest one to me is over 2 hours away, so I don't get there very often. Say "hi" to all of the Belle dolls for me. ;D
Oh my gosh I got that toddler Merida doll! She is too cute for words.
ReplyDeleteHello again, All AG. :) I'm glad you like your new toddler Merida!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your story with me, too. :) I didn't publish the comment so that it would remain private. I thought you did an excellent job. Keep up the good work, and keep getting in as much writing practice as you can. :)
Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! :)
