Hearts For Hearts Girls Tipi :)

Hey everyone!  Sorry I've been rather nonexistent this week.  I had something going every day, and between that and the time change, I'm worn out! :}

One of the other things I purchased on my birthday trip was a Hearts For Hearts Tipi doll.  I wasn't sure whether I was going to keep Tipi at first (which is why I haven't mentioned her before this).  She was a complete impulse buy, although I've thought about getting her before.  With the limited availability of the Hearts For Hearts Girls, I decided I would go ahead and buy her and decide later whether she would stay. :}

Well, I finally decided I would go ahead and keep her.  It helped that I waited so long to make my decision that I'd only have store credit at this point, anyway. ;)

I'm not going to go into as much detail on this review since I've done so many Hearts For Hearts Girls reviews.  You can find my earlier posts on my Doll and Toy Reviews Page. :)

The outside of Tipi's box...

...and the inside:

Sides and back of the box:

Here's sweet Tipi free from her box with all of her accessories.

Her hair had one section attached to her shirt with thread (it was rather tricky to cut it loose without cutting her hair or her shirt). :}

There was one section of hair hanging free to look nice in the box.  The rest of it was gathered in a ponytail.

Tipi's cute blue sandals (made of plastic).  I can definitely see why the rubber bands were on her feet.  These shoes are really hard to keep on!!

I decided to take Tipi's hair out except for a small part in the front that held her hair back from her face.

She has such a cute face! :)

I thought I'd try one of my Gymboree Gymbelles dresses on her and dress her up a bit. ;)

This dress kind of reminds me of a school uniform.

One of the really exciting things about adding Tipi to our collection is that now, between me, my daughters, and my aunt, we have all ten dolls produced by Hearts For Hearts Girls.  I didn't have the time or energy to get everyone out and set up (and I have to get Rahel from Mimi's sometime), so for tonight I just selected a few of my favorites to tide you over until a more official photo shoot. ;)

Shola, Tipi, Lauryce, Nahji, and Conseulo.  Tipi seems to be fitting right in. ;)

I really love these dolls and hope to see more of them produced in the future.  Unfortunately, they've been very scarce on the shelves and hard to find.  I hope this doesn't affect their sales and that the Hearts For Hearts Girls line will be around in the years to come. :)

I decided it would be fun to make a new header featuring the H4H Girls, so here's my former header (which I LOVE):

More posts are coming, but this month is going to be very busy, so bear with me if they're fewer and farther between.  I definitely will not be able to keep up my record from Lala-Pony-Palooza Month. :}

Hope you're all having a great November!!

  2. Cool!

    I really want a H4H doll, they look so cute! But because I live in England, it would be a bit expensive!

    I really like your new header - it surprised me a bit when I first opened up your blog!

  3. The dolls, Consuelo is one of my very favorites. :)

    I'm sorry Hearts For Hearts Girls are so hard to find in England, Charlotte. :( I hope you end up with one someday!

    Thanks, I had fun with my new header. It was a big change from the Zelf one, though, so I understand your surprise. ;)

  4. Where did you get Shola and Nahji's dresses? Are they Groovy Girls? And where do you get Zelfs?

    Sorry so many questions

  6. These girls are so adorable! I think their faces are just the cutest and they have really nice eyes. I've not seen very many of them in stores around me area and I try not to buy online all the time. I'm also always worried that I'd never have clothes or be able to find clothes that would fit them.

  7. Thanks, OurAGAdventures. :) I'm really happy with the way the header turned out. I think the grey dress looks great on Tipi, too. :)

    Hi Amber! Yes, sadly the Hearts For Hearts Girls have not been kept in stock very well, especially this year. I'm hoping that will improve.

    I've had some success finding different outfits for them, mostly from thrift stores, but they are a unique size, so I can understand your concern.

  8. Hi, would you recommend Wal*Mart My Life As dolls? I saw them and was curious.

  9. Abigail, I'm sorry I missed your comment. Shola and Nahji's dresses are from the Dora Explorer Girls line that is no longer being made. I found them at Goodwill. :)

    The Zelfs are at Toys R Us and Amazon.com, and they're supposed to eventually be at Walmart, too. I haven't seen them at my local Walmarts yet, but hopefully they'll be there soon! :)

    Hi Anonymous A. I have mixed thoughts on the My Life As dolls, but they are super cute. I did a review on them last year. You can see it here

    Hope this helps! :)

  10. Oh my, Tipi is great! I don't know what little girls in Laos usually wear, but the face and skin tone are very good and look much better than the box pictures. I think this is the most realistic H4H doll you've shown, although Shola is awesome, too.

  12. They are so cute together! Which one of you has Dell?

  14. You took her out of her hijab?!
    YOU TOOK HER OUT OF HER HIJAB?!
    That's disrespectful to her Muslim heritage. Shola would probably not go around with out it very often.
    It actually took me a minute to recognize her without it. It's one of the things that makes her unique, and help identify her from the rest of the brunettes of the line.
    I can understand taking it off to see how long her hair is during an initial meetingwants her hijab back.
    Sorrynotsorry for blowing up about this.

  15. Hi Evie, thanks for stopping by. :)

    Yes, I did take Shola out of her hijab for a while. I took the hijab off originally for my review post, and then for a while I played around with the idea of making her east Indian instead because she looked so much like my favorite Bollywood actress, Kajol. Then I tried different dresses and things on all of the girls. I don't usually keep my dolls canon, I just enjoy dressing and photographing them. :)

    I almost put everyone back in their original clothing for the group photo at the bottom of this post, but I wanted to try them in some different dresses. I'm sorry if this offended you.

    You'll be happy to know that for the past several months, she has been back in her original clothing, including her hijab. :)
