Our Art Gallery ;)

I thought you might enjoy seeing the results of last night's date:

I decided on a Princess Jasmine page.  I haven't colored or drawn a Jasmine picture for a long time, and I loved the unique pose they used for this particular picture.

It was really fun determining the right colors for her and playing around with shading and such. :)

I also enjoyed figuring out the right color scheme for the palace in the background. :)  (I used an online photo as a reference.)

Hubby, meanwhile, selected a picture of a robin in a garden.

He did a great job capturing its coloring (He also referred to an online photo).

I love the detail and shading he included:

And here's our test paper and leftover colors we used. ;)

It was really nice to sit and chat as we colored away.  We haven't done that for a long time.  :)

I have some updates to share and some reviews to post, but for now it's time to go celebrate my brother's thirtieth birthday!  More to come later!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and I'll talk to you again soon. :)

  3. I love this idea of a "date" Beastsbelle! I'll have to keep it in mind. :)

  4. I love that you had a coloring date together - how sweet! No one is ever too old to color. I haven't colored in ages, but I've been aching for a Frozen coloring book.

  5. I highly recommend it, Amanda S. :) Especially for a nice, low-cost date night. ;)

Laura, thanks so much for stopping by! I always love hearing from you, and know you're super busy. :)

We had a lot of fun together. We've done this before, but it's been a really long time.

A Frozen coloring book would be amazing! :) Hmm, maybe I'll have to drop a few hints to Hubby for our next date night. ;)

  7. Hi! That looks like so much fun!!!
I agree with Sophie, no one is too old to color!!!

I have a question, like always, it is unrelated to this post. Sorry. But, do you think ever after high doll outfits are modest? I'm looking to get either apple white(cause she looks like Emma Swan from once upon a time), or Madeline hatter, or maybe cedar wood, or poppy and holly, I DONT KNOW! :D but my family are not big fans of un modest clothing, neither am I, that's why I want an idea of what I, getting before I save up, know what I mean? :)

  9. Thank you so much, everyone! :)

Mahogany1960, that's a tough question to answer. Everyone has different ideas of modesty, and what bothers some may not bother others. I personally wish that the EAH dolls had slightly longer skirts, although I have several of them myself. I especially love Cedar Wood, Raven Queen, Madeline Hatter, and Cerise Hood. :)

My daughters (ages 10, 8, and 6) do not have any of the dolls, partially because of their clothing style and partially because I'm not sure I want to introduce them to the webisodes yet.

Compared to a lot of dolls out there, they're not that bad. The Legacy Day dolls have slightly longer skirts and things, too, so that might be a good option for you. I think your best bet, though, would be to discuss the dolls with your parents and see what they think about them, especially if modesty is an important issue for them.

    Hope this helps! :)
