Thirteen years ago today, I married my high school sweetheart. It seems unreal that it's actually been that long. But each year has made me more thankful for the incredible man I married. He's kind and patient, even when I'm being bratty. He puts up with my crazy collections. He listens to me ramble on about the plot and characters from my book and gives valuable insight. He thinks I'm beautiful (silly, delusional man). ;) He loves our girls and enjoys spending time with them. He works crazy hours to provide for us, sticking with a job for nine years before beginning his full time training. He encourages me spiritually and has made me a better person through his godly influence. He is my hero in every way and my best friend. I love you, honey! :D
Me and my man. (And yes, I did go barefoot for my wedding. Best. Decision. Ever.) ;)
Our first outing together as "just friends" (I was fourteen, he was seventeen).
Our (almost) 1 year anniversary. ;)
Our 5th Anniversary
Last December (sorry it's such a small picture...I had to crop the girls out of the shot).
We won't be celebrating our anniversary until Saturday (it's Hubby's only day off), but when we do, I'll try to get a few pics. :)
Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteDawwww, what beautiful pictures! Happy Anniversary!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, everyone!! :D
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! Thanks for sharing these loving shots. It's such a beautiful thing when couples can still look at each other in such a happy, positive light even after years have gone by and you are living in the stress of having kids! :) Happy Anniversary to you both! :)
ReplyDeleteAww, such cute pictures! Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteYour husband is a handsome man and he isn't delusional, you're beautiful. :) i also went barefoot and it WAS amazing! No pinched toes or blisters. Congratulations on 13 years and may God bless you for many more!

ReplyDeleteLovely pictures! Happy anniversary and congratulations on 13 wonderful years!
ReplyDeleteI'm behind on blog reading, but happy belated anniversary!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Casey! :)
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss this post? Usually I'm so good about keeping up with your blog (even though I'm apparently *very* sporadic about commenting, oops). Anyway, happy anniversary! You look stunning all of those pictures, and your hubby's handsome too. I had a couple of random observations I thought you might enjoy: in the second picture, your hubby reminds me of Hugh Dancy a bit, probably because I've just watched Ella Enchanted again. ;-) The other one is that your wedding outfit totally reminds me of Emma Woodhouse's wedding in in the adaptation with Gwyneth Paltrow. The empire-waist dress, the way your veils are behind your curls...did you do that on purpose, since you're such an Austenite? I just love Emma - she's probably my favorite Austen heroine! :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary to you both!!!
Just read the post! Congrats! You looks pretty, making me think of the movie star in the 80s, Phoebe Cates. Your husband is handsome, and more important, he looks like a very nice person! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks Claire. Sorry it took me so long to respond to this. :)
ReplyDeleteHmm, I've always loved Hugh Dancy's acting...maybe that's why! ;D
And yes, my wedding gown was totally inspired by the Gwyneth Paltrow version of Emma. That was the movie that made me officially fall in love with Jane Austen, so finding that dress was the perfect addition to my wedding day. :) We even walked out to "End Titles" from Emma at the end of our wedding. :D
Thanks so much, Vicki. I had to look up Phoebe Cates. It's so fun reminding people of lovely movie stars. I'm quite flattered. ;)
My hubby is both handsome and a very nice person, which as you said, is most important. I'm very blessed to have him in my life. :)
Thank you!
