Early Birthday Goodies/Souvenirs :D

As promised, though later than I originally intended, today we'll take a look at my goodies from my recent trip. :)

By the way, sorry I got so behind on responding to comments! I will get back to those of you who commented on my last post sometime today. Oldest Gal had four soccer games this week (Monday through Thursday), so as you can imagine, things have been a little nuts around here recently. ;)

Here's a group shot of everything I got. :)

We'll take a look at mini Maryellen first. :)

Jenna was so excited to open her. :)

Maryellen's sweet little face. :)

Almost free of the box...

Love at first sight. ;)

Maryellen and Jenna

Jenna checking out Maryellen's book.

Mini Maryellen is just stunning. I love the AG mini dolls, and it was so fun to be able to bring something from Maryellen's collection home with me that didn't cost too much or take up too much space. :)

She has the most adorable little face. :)

Her ponytail was in a loose rubber band to help it keep its shape.

Here it is free from the band. I love the flip of her hair. :)

Maryellen's dress and shrug.

A closer look at the ribbon detail on her bodice.

Her cute little shoes from the front...

...and the side.
The ladies in my doll club mentioned that for accuracy, Maryellen should have socks with these shoes. I'm guessing American Girl decided to opt for a slightly less accurate option on both mini and regular Maryellen to keep all the moms out there happy. Getting doll shoes on over socks is never as easy as just slipping the shoes on over the feet. At least white doll socks are easy to come by. For the regular-sized dolls, anyway. ;)

Maryellen from the sides and back:

Her little shrug is removable, revealing ribbon straps on her dress. It does seem like the skirt of this dress works a little better on the large version of the doll. The extra seam at the top of the skirt doesn't look quite like the big doll's.

Her hair is a strawberry blonde color, and she has a cute little ribbon accent in her ponytail.

Like all the other mini dolls, Maryellen comes with a mini, condensed version of her book.

A look at one of the pages inside.

The back of the book.

I love how the mini books look just like the regular ones. These are so much fun to use for doll props or for dolly photo shoots. :)

Mini Maryellen was $25.00 at the AG Place. I'm so happy I got her. Now that I'm running out of room for big dolls, the minis are a fun option for me. And, of course, it's even more fun that they work perfectly as dolls for my bigger dolls. ;)

At the AG Place, I also purchased this new hat and pair of pants for my dolls.

The Tweed Driver's Cap is one of the new items at AG. I've always loved this style of cap and thought the dolls would enjoy it, too. :)

It looks so cute on Jenna...

...especially from the side. :)

The back of the cap.

I also purchased these pants. I couldn't find them on the AG website, but they go along with all of the themed clothing from the AG Place. I believe they were around $12.00.

I love the detail of the stitching and the cute little red AG star in one pocket.

The backs of the pants.

Both pieces are really cute and will give me some great mix and match options for future outfits. :)

I used my $10 Build-A-Bear gift card to purchase this Frozen bedding set. My mom purchased this for her dolls during one of our past birthday trips, so I knew it would work for them.

The set comes with a pillow...

...and blanket.

At the Disney Store, I finally got my special Singing Rapunzel doll! :D I've had my eye on her for a while but couldn't justify the $30 price tag. However, since I had some Disney Dream Rewards Dollars and some early birthday money from my mom, I decided to splurge. :)

Box details:

I love the Pascal in this set! :D

The ends of the box are so pretty. I love the detail that looks like book binding here. It kind of reminds me of the Ever After High line.

The other end of the box looks like the pages of a book, again bringing EAH to mind.

The box opens with Velcro, but there are sticky tabs holding it shut. Since I'm not planning on deboxing Rapunzel, I didn't open her any further.

Finally, I bought this adorable little Zarya doll from the new OG Lori line of mini dolls at Target.

I loved her unique coloring.

Plus, the high neck of her shirt hides the odd-looking neck seam that all of these dolls have.

I'm trying to figure out how I would pronounce her name correctly. Any ideas?

Box details:

I did open Zarya, but I haven't had a chance to take any deboxed pics of her. I'll try to get those up later! :)

When I got home from my trip, I had a surprise package waiting from my dear online friend, Sunny_Harper1994. :) Thanks so much, Sunny! :D

She found me these really fun Beauty and the Beast themed makeup products and thought I would enjoy them. :) She mentioned that she especially liked the lip gloss (on the right) because she thought it would remind me of the enchanted rose ring box Hubby made me for my engagement ring. :) (You can read more about that HERE.)

The inside of the Belle Beauty Book has all sorts of fun makeup shades.

I love the names they chose for each one:

The one side even has a mirror with the quote: "For beauty is found within."

That part unfolds to reveal two different makeup looks, called "Inventor's Daughter" and "Princess Belle."

The back of the Beauty Book.

It was so sweet of Sunny_Harper1994 to send this to me. It really brightened my day to have a package to open. :) I probably won't use the makeup, because I love having it displayed with the rest of my Beauty and the Beast collection! :)

The day after we got home, I noticed that the large Design Your Zelf was on sale on the Toys R Us website for just $7.99. I've had my eye on this cutie for a long time, but didn't want to pay the full $19.99 for her. At that sale price, though, I couldn't pass her up. :)

Such a cute face. :)

Back of the box.

She comes with stickers and markers you can use to customize her. I've already decided I won't use the stickers. They usually don't stick well and end up leaving a residue behind. I haven't decided if I'll color her or not, but once I open her and figure out what I'm doing, I'll try to share a few more pics. :)

For those of you who are interested, she is still on sale on the website HERE. Toys R Us is also currently offering free shipping on purchases over $19 instead of their usual $49 or more, so that might tempt some of you. ;)

Then, last Friday, Hubby let me buy myself Cinderella on Blu-ray and DVD for my early birthday present from him. :) The girls and I have watched it several times already. (I haven't convinced Hubby to watch it quite yet.) ;) I love this movie so much and can't WAIT for the live action version of Beauty and the Beast in 2017! :D

Well, I've got to wrap things up. If I don't hurry, I'll be late picking up the girls from school. Hope you enjoyed this look at some of my goodies. Talk to you guys again soon!

  1. Jenna is such a beautiful doll. I think she is my favourite of the AG dolls I've seen (photos only) I know this post is not about her but it just struck me how pretty she looks on those photos.

I always thought that it would be great if singing Rapunzel would sing the healing song. Then the tinsel would make more sense in her hair, in my opinion :)

  2. Fun stuff! I love the singing Rapunzel. I keep seeing her in the store and reminding myself that I don't really NEED her...

  3. All of those things are so cool! I especially like the Rapunzel doll singing set!:D I love Zarya's eye color! It's really unique! I think you might pronounce her name like- ZAR-e-uh, but that's just how I would do it!;)
Congrats on all of the cool stuff!:)

  4. I am so excited to be in one of your posts! Thank you so much for including my gift with the rest of your goodies.
Zarya is beautiful! It is very rare for such a color combination on a doll. Her hair looks very bouncy, I hope it doesn't get too wild and frizzy.

  5. Hi Hannah,
Great birthday haul! Mini Mary Ellen is precious...I'm really looking forward to getting her eventually as well as a few of the other historical minis but I'm currently trying to save up for Grace before the end of the year so I will have to hold out! I am interested in your review of Rapunzel if you decide to do one. We currently have the 2014 classic Rapunzel as well as the Palace Pets version and I'm trying to get a review up as well to compare those two.

I just found out this week that a Disney store opened up in our local mall and (not to sound like a huge dork...) when the girls and I walked in, it was MAGICAL. It was so fun to see all of the Disney dolls in person!! I didn't realize the DAC toddlers were so big! We didn't buy anything, but it was so tempting. I can't wait to go back, lol. What a difference from just browsing their website. I could've bought that entire little Christmas tree with all of the character ornaments, lol...EASILY!
Hope you and the family have a nice week and can find time for relaxation. I've been keeping up with your Vlogs and you're doing such a great job! :)

  6. Hey everyone! Sorry I kept you waiting so long before responding to all of your comments. :{

Meritre, Jenna is one of my favorite dolls, too. She is so incredibly photogenic. It's almost impossible to take a bad picture of her. ;)

Singing Rapunzel should TOTALLY sing the healing song! Especially since it starts out a cappella. It would make so much more sense than "When Will My Life Begin" and wouldn't sound so empty!

Lol, MyLittleMegara, I totally understand. I've been eyeing her ever since she was released and finally gave in. ;) I just really wanted her to go with my Anna. I'm really hoping they eventually release a Belle in the series, and then I'll have all three of my favorite princesses! :D

Hi Emma! I'm so thrilled to finally have Singing Rapunzel in my collection. :) And Zarya's eye color was one of the things that I liked best about her. It's not a common doll eye color. :)

Thanks for the suggestion on the name pronunciation. Sounds good to me! :)

Sunny_Harper1994, of course! :D You brightened my week so much with your sweet gift! I wanted to be sure and share it with everyone else, too. I'm so glad I had the privilege to "meet" you through this blog. :)

I'm a little worried about Zarya's hair, too. I don't plan on doing much other than displaying her, though, so hopefully it won't get too crazy. ;)

Hi Farrah Lily! :D Mini Maryellen really is gorgeous. They did such a great job with her. :)

I hope you are able to save up for Grace! She's such a beautiful doll. :)

I can't promise anything on Singing Rapunzel. I'd love to do a review, but I really don't want to open her. The box is so lovely, and I don't want to mess it up. :(

I'd love to see your review of the Palace Pets Rapunzel if you get it up. :)

LOL, oh my goodness, I am ALWAYS a dork when I go to the Disney Store! :D I usually have a grin as big as a little kid's when I go in there. I could live there. Seriously. ;) I totally understand about seeing everything in person. I'm so glad you have a store so close! Our closest one is two hours away, so it's always a special treat when we get to go. ;)

Thanks so much for the encouragement. I always love seeing your comments on the vlogs. I've really been enjoying myself! :) Onwards and upwards! :D

  7. Sooo sorry for the belated birthday wishes, but I haven't been on Blogger the last couple of weeks. :} Anyway, happy belated birthday! What fun goodies - I've had to stop collecting dolls due to a lack of space (I've still got all my old ones, though!) but I do love seeing all the new AG things. And Maryellen! I'd been hoping AG would make a 1950s girl for ages, and she's darling. I think I'm most excited about your Cinderella Blu-Ray, though - I loooooved the new film, but I haven't picked up a copy yet. And of course, March 2017 can't come soon enough with Beauty and the Beast. ;)

  8. Nice birthday haul!

The Pascal mini figure in the dress is awesome! I was actually using that image, from the film (with Rapunzel staring dreamily at him, admiring her handiwork), as my computer desktop background several months ago.

As a guy, I don't wear any, but that Belle makeup kit is pretty sweet too. I love how they named all the shades after the film's characters/themes.

My guess would be "Zahr-yah" for the pronunciation of the OG mini doll's name. Perhaps it's a trendier spelling of the Hebrew Zara or Zarah, which means "East" or "Dawn brightness". And, no, I didn't know that off the top of my head, I just happen to have a "Name Your Baby" book at my computer desk--you'd be surprised how often that comes in handy (there was no listing in it for Zarya specifically though, but then, it's a 1966 edition, so it's rather out of date).

  9. No problem, Claire. I completely understand. :) Glad to hear from you again, and that you enjoyed hearing about the goodies.

Cinderella has been well-watched since I purchased it. It's one of our very favorites. :)

And yes, like you, I'm waiting impatiently for March 2017. Can't wait!!! :D

Hi Mark! I definitely found some fun goodies. ;)

I love that part of the movie, too, with Pascal. I thought they did a great job capturing it in toy form.

I loved the creative names of the Belle-themed makeup, too. :)

Thanks for the pronunciation idea on Zarya's name. Lol, I use baby name books all the time, too. They're great for naming characters in my books. ;)
