"Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity-Jig"

I'm happy to say that after two days on the road, five lovely days spent with family, and another two days of travel, I'm finally back home. It's a good thing I didn't plan on posting here, because the majority of my time away was spent at a snowy camp tucked just far enough out of the way that I had no cell service. I had to climb a small mountain to get enough service to call Hubby. ;)

We got back last night at a little after ten...which felt like eleven since we'd been an hour ahead for most of our travels. Today I'll be attacking the mountains of laundry from our trip, resting up, and slowly sorting through pictures. I'll share pics and thoughts from my trip with you sometime this week.

The kind of odd but slightly nice thing about being away is that we were in this sort of Thanksgiving/wedding bubble, where time seemed to stand still. It was jarring to check my Facebook account on the way home and see all of the Christmas decorations and be reminded that December is here! Of course, normally, I'd be right there with everyone else. Our tree would already be up and I would at least have been thinking about starting Christmas cards. ;) I have a feeling this Christmas season is going to hit me like a truck. This is the time of year where we hit the ground running, to borrow the cliche, and don't stop until well past the 25th.

Still, it was nice to have that time away, to focus on Thanksgiving more than I have for years, and to connect with my husband's family in a deep, meaningful way. The added bonus of attending my nephew's wedding made it even more special.

I can't wait to share more with you, but sadly, the laundry and unpacking beckons. ;) Talk to you guys again soon! :)

Here's a bit of bonus trivia to tide you over while you wait. Can you guess where mini Saige is standing? I'll give you a hint: it's in Wyoming. ;)

  1. Nana Kestrel would know. She and Auntie DePawl travel out there all the time. :) Looks like Saige is a bit chilly though with that snow in the background.

    Happy belated Thanksgiving!

  2. I'm glad your holiday was filled with joy and family. Weddings are beautiful and so close to a holiday makes it even more special with people having off days so more can attend.
On a whole other note, I came across E.A.H doll Farrah Goodfairy: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B015EB3CGS/ref=pd_aw_vtph_21_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=TMPK1JYWM50YARSJHKNA and she was very, very, very familiar to me. Then I realized she looks just like Emilie! I believe it's her face mold recycled in a bigger sized. She is Emilie as a teenager! Hehehe, I had to tell you as soon as I saw it. Please pass it to Belle whenever possible. ;)

  4. Sounds like you had a great time! We are actually in FL right now visiting my brother and are getting ready for the two day road trip home on Saturday. It is WEIRD to see all the Christmas decorations up here when it feels like summer! I'm looking forward to getting back into bogging as well when I get back! :)
