Disney Button Contest

Hi everyone!  While reading Miss Dashwood's blog, Yet Another Period Drama Blog, I heard about a fun Disney Button contest, being hosted by Stephanie of Eccentricitee.  You know me, I couldn't pass up a chance to be involved in something Disney, so I decided to give it a whirl, so to speak. ;)

The point of the contest is to make a button with a picture from a Disney film and a quote from another film or song.  You can read the original instructions HERE.

I had a lot of fun with this. :)  Here are my entries (I enlarged them a bit so they'd be easier to read):

Movie:  Disney's "Aladdin"
Quote:  Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet"

The rest of mine are from Beauty and the Beast (are you really surprised?). ;)

Movie:  Disney's "Beauty and the Beast"
Song:  Rodgers and Hammerstein's "The Sound of Music"

Movie:  Disney's "Beauty and the Beast"
Quote:  "Pride and Prejudice" 1995 (Lizzy to Mr. Darcy after his first proposal)

I just couldn't resist...the quote seemed so perfect! ;)

And finally, because Hubby and I have often commented on the similarities between the endings of Beauty and the Beast and Tangled:

Movie:  Disney's "Beauty and the Beast"
Quote:  Disney's "Tangled"

I had a great time coming up with these.  I hope some of you take the time to try this out yourselves! :)

  1. Oh, I love these! I think my favorite is the one with Belle and Gaston...:)

By the way, I went and saw "Beauty and the Beast 3D" on Wednesday, and it was so much fun! The 3D didn't do much, but nevertheless it was so amazing to see it on the big screen. The only major downside was that they omitted the "Human Again" song - which was one of my favorites! -, but then again it wasn't in the original cut of the movie anyway.

And "Tangled Ever After" was ADORABLE! Definitely a worthy sequel to the original. :)

    Alright, now I'm just blubbering. :}

  2. These are lovely and so much fun!
All of the quotes fit the photos perfectly! The Belle and Gaston one is especially clever!
I'd never thought about how the endings of Beauty and the Beast and Tangled are so much the same, but you're right! That's interesting. :)

  3. Thanks so much, gals. :)

Claire, I get to see Beauty and the Beast sometime in the next week or so (I have a free movie pass from Disney Movie Club...now I just have to figure out a time to go!). :)

I'm not much for the whole 3D thing, but I"m sooo excited to see "Tangled Ever After"! :) That's interesting that they omitted "Human Again", but like you said, it wasn't original to the film, so I guess it makes sense.

Thanks, Laurie. I hope you get a chance to do some yourself. :) I had so much fun!

I loved the similarities between Beauty and the Beast and Tangled. Of course, I have a soft spot for romantic near-death scenes. I do NOT like romantic scenes where one of the characters actually dies, however! At least, not as much! ;) But yeah, everything from the tender words exchanged to the magical healing light instantly made me think of Beauty and the Beast. :) I thought it would be fun to mix the two for my button.

Have a great week, girls! :)

  8. Thanks, Elliebob! :)

Making blog buttons can be pretty complicated and take a lot of work, but the end result is definitely worth it! :) These buttons were nice and easy because they don't actually link to anything. I found the pictures at disneyscreencaps.com (thanks for mentioning it, Stephanie!). I chose the ones I liked and saved them to my computer. Then I went to Picnik.com, resized them, and added effects and text. I saved the finished products to my computer and then uploaded them to my blog! :)

It's a lot more involved to make actual buttons that have a link, but this gives you a starting point! :)
