Day Trip Pics

The week has been full and busy, but really fun.  I thought I'd share some of the pictures from our day trip this past Wednesday.  Most of the pics I took had people in them, so I won't be sharing those here. :)

It's always fun getting to spend time with Hubby's family at their special camp/resort.  I love seeing their faces as they relive old memories together.  We've gone there enough now since our marriage that I've started to make memories of my own there, so that's been great. :)  It would be an awesome place to go and write (lots of "scope for the imagination", as Anne of Green Gables would say). ;)

Charlie and Rontu came along to enjoy the great outdoors with us.  This picture was taken right beside the spot we stopped for lunch.

One of the highlights of our trip was hiking up to see one of the swimming holes that is part of the beautiful river that flows through the camp (although it feels more like a creek).

Buttershy and Mermalade had a great time exploring.

Mermalade always feels very at home near the water. :)

It was an absolutely gorgeous day.  I couldn't stop snapping pictures of the scenery around us. :)

The little girls waded in the shallow parts (Little Gal got in a little too deep once, but Aunt C was quick to rescue her before any damage was done), and the bigger girls (Oldest Gal and her cousins) spent their time swimming and jumping off of the huge rock that jutted out over the swimming hole (yes, we checked the depth first). ;)  Most of the adults jumped off the rock, too.  I did not. ;)  I actually didn't plan on swimming, but decided I would go ahead and swim in my clothes at the end of the afternoon because I didn't feel like climbing on the sharp, pointy rocks that surrounded one side of the swimming hole again. ;)  The only problem was, I had my camera, my truck keys with electronic buttons, and my two Zelfs with me.  My brother-in-law solved this by offering to get them back to shore for me.  He hung one of the key rings from my keys around one finger, held the Zelfs and the camera firmly in the same hand, and swam all the way across the swimming hole with one arm held high above his head.  I would have loved to get a picture...but he was holding my camera. ;}

After our long afternoon, we had a tailgate party in the parking area before heading into the "General Store" at the entrance of the resort, and then home.

Buttershy and Mermalade sneak into the package of P's "Energy Bites", a yummy snack with peanut butter, chocolate chips, and I think flax seed or something else healthy. ;)  They're AMAZING. :)

We had a really fun time together Wednesday, and made more fun memories to cherish in years to come. :)

School starts again on Monday, so things might be a little crazy around here for a while.  I already have a post scheduled for the end of next week, though, so you're guaranteed to hear from me at least once. ;)

Have a great week next week, everyone! :)
