Quick Post: My New Room Setup

Hey everyone!  I thought today I'd share what I worked on all last week. :)  As you know from one of my previous posts, I had a pretty nasty mildew problem with one of our bedroom windows.  Since we haven't gotten the window replaced yet, I had to rearrange things so that the area on that side of the room stayed fairly open (that way, I can keep an eye on things and make sure the problems don't continue). ;)

Here are a few overview pictures:

You can also see a brief video tour on my YouTube channel HERE. :)

I'd love to hear what you think!  As I said in the video, there are some things I miss about the old setup, but I really love how nice and open everything is now.  It looks a lot less cluttered and excessive. :}  I ended up downsizing and condensing quite a bit, so in the coming month there will be a few things on eBay (although many little things just went to Goodwill). :)

Have a great week, everyone!  I hope to have another post up for you by the end of the week, but I have a lot going, so there may not be much up until next week.  You can be sure I'll be back as soon as I can, though. :)

Hi! I'm a newbie, I've been reading your blogs (this one and Belle's Bulletins) since january but this is my first time writing a comment. Your rearranged room looks really great! The video tour was interesting, too, as I'm not familiar with your non disney collections. Looking forward to the next one! :)

I love your room set up! Quite the collection :) I'd assume that you aren't selling any of your 18 inchers, but is it worth asking?

Not at this point in time, but you guys will be the first to know if I do. :)

What fun! I have some Nancy Ann Storybook dolls too, my grandma's collection. It's not often that I know of someone else who has some. :)

I miss your old set up but now the sun can shine through! Lol

The new layout looks great! Wow, all those carefully arranged shelves must be torture to dust! How do you do it? Anyway, thanks for having us over for a virtual visit. I grabbed some tea while listening to you. I can't get over how young you sound, especially after your teaching experience. I worked as a museum tour guide - several months in, I lost my voice and it was never the same after it came back.
I giggled at the Rapunzel shelf. So many of the same thing, for a moment there I thought there was something wrong with my eyes :) The top AG room appears the exact shade of purple that we painted in our to-be bedroom. It looks so nice furnished. Thanks for sharing this treasure with us!

Hi Kelly! :) The Nancy Anns were given to me by a lady in my church who had them stored away. When I spoke on dolls at our church's Ladies Event a few years ago, she realized I might enjoy them and offered them to me. :) It's been fun branching out into antique dolls. :)

Hi Sunny! Actually, the sun isn't doing a whole lot of shining. :) I had the window clear for a while, but I went ahead and purchased more foam core board to rest on the window sills. That window gets a lot of direct sunlight in the afternoon, and I was worried that it might damage some of my Beauty and the Beast collection. :}

Glad you enjoyed the tour, BlackKitty. :) I love the fact that I can "have you guys over" for a quick peek. ;)

As far as dusting...um...I don't exactly dust as much as I should. I pretty much dust when I rearrange or when I need a doll or toy for a photo shoot. I'm trying to be better about it, but I also decided I didn't need the stress of keeping everything perfectly dusted all the time, either. ;)

I do look and sound young. It used to drive me crazy when I was a teenager (especially the day a mom asked me if I thought her junior high-aged daughter would like what she was buying...I was eighteen at the time). ;) Now that I'm getting older, I find I don't mind it so much. ;)

Lol, the other day, Hubby was looking at my Rapunzel shelf and said, "That's a lot of Rapunzels." I then proceeded to show him the differences between each one. He quickly glazed over and was probably sorry he said anything. ;) I do enjoy having the dolls from each year so I can do my fun comparison posts on the blog. It's fun to see how the dolls change from release to release. :)

Thanks for stopping by, everyone! :)

Wow!....You have a lot of dolls! How many do you have? I have about 15 and I'm looking to customizing some to look like my characters and I'd like to start collecting the EAH dolls too!

Oh, I'm so relieved I'm not the only one whose shelf looks like snow with footprints when I take a doll out...

Addy and Emma, I honestly don't know...I've lost count. ;) I just collect what I enjoy. I'm getting to the point where I'll have to start getting rid of dolls and toys before I add new ones, though. ;)

Lol, you're definitely not the only one with that problem, BlackKitty. ;) Our house really collects dust, too, so it doesn't take long for me to get behind. :}
