A Lovely Week and a Weekend Getaway

It's been a lovely week in my neck of the woods.

Monday night was my monthly writers group meeting, which was as fun and informative as always.

On Tuesday, I got a good workout at the gym. (Time to attach that tummy and those thighs...and that growing double chin, while I'm at it!) ;)

Wednesday I got to go out to breakfast with my best friend since childhood. She lives in Arizona now, so seeing her is always a special treat. We talked and laughed and ate yummy French toast and talked some more. As always, the visit felt much too short, but it was such a joy to get to catch up. I miss her already.

That night, on the way to pick up Oldest Gal from Youth Group, Middle Gal, Little Gal and I saw a FULL rainbow with another one above it. It was so beautiful! I couldn't get the full arc on film once we'd parked, but here's part of it:

Thursday was another nice workout...working off the aforementioned French toast splurge. ;) It's been so nice to get back to my Skinny Jeans program again. :)

And today I got to visit with another dear friend who has three daughters of her own. Our six girls always have so much fun together. :)

On my way home, I stopped at my P.O. Box for the first time in several weeks and found a few lovely goodies waiting for me from my online pals Treesa and Karina. Thank you so much, girls! Another "Fan Mail Friday" post will be up soon. :)

To top it all off, the weather has been lovely and cool this entire week. The girls and I have been pretending we live on the coast (our favorite place to visit). Today, they all grabbed their pink parasols and spent a good hour stomping in the puddles. Eventually, their play evolved into an elaborate game in which they were three orphans (with almost spot-on British accents, thanks to all those nights listening to Focus on the Family Radio Theatre) searching for shelter in a storm.

The exciting thing is, the week's not over yet! :D Tomorrow morning, Hubby and I will drop the girls off with my parents and head down to Mount Hermon for a concert by Fernando Ortega. :D Fernando has been one of my favorite Christian artists since I was in college, and this is the first time I'll get to hear him perform in person. I'm so excited!! :D

And, of course, we'll have to stop at the Fairfield mall on the way down to check out the Disney Store. ;)

We've decided this is our early anniversary celebration since Hubby won't have time off on our actual anniversary (the 29th of this month). We'll be celebrating fourteen years of marriage. Crazy! Where does the time go?

I'll be back next week to tell you all about my trip. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! :)

Thanks, Karina, I did. :) And thank you so much for the package. It made my day. Hayden says thank you for the outfit, too. It looks lovely with her green eyes. ;)

Have a great week, and good to hear from you.

P.S. I keep forgetting you live in Oregon. We're not that far apart...we really need to get together sometime. :)

Hey Beastsbelle! I'm so happy you are excited about the Hearts For Hearts Dolls Relaunch. I'm feeling E-X-C-I-T-E-D, too!

The Rūta character was actually created by my friend Hagit. Just in case you're thinking I stole her idea, I was only helping her create Ruta's outfit.

Also, Hagit is here to announce that she will be making a few changes to the Rūta Doll. First of all, the doll will come with a girl-sized amber necklace. The doll's outfit will also undergo minor changes to make it more Lithuanian-looking.

Aside from Ruta, the Lithuanian Girl, Hagit is now creating a girl from Ukraine. The Ukrainian Doll's name is Alyona. The reason why Hagit chose Ukraine is because that country is currently under a state of war. Alyona has curly blond hair and brown eyes. As for the doll's outfit, she wears a white lace dress underneath a red bell-sleeve blazer. She also wears blue flats and a flower crown on her head. Moreover, the doll also comes with a girl-sized flower crown! Her bracelet charm color is royal blue and the box color is cyan. If Alyona was released, would you like to purchase one?

Hagit and I will just contact the designer so we can discuss our ideas about Rūta and Alyona.

Hi Anonymous, I just saw that myself! I was heading over to announce it on the blog. ;)

Hi Joanne! Those sound like great ideas. I hope you're able to connect with the designer. :)
