A Mid-Week Hello :)

Hi everyone!  It's not looking like I'll have a chance to finish my second J-doll review post before I leave this weekend, so I thought I'd just pop in and chat with all of you for a bit. ;)

My house is slowly transforming into a clean house ready for company. ;)  My mom, my dad, and my aunt all came over today to help me.  Mom and Mimi helped with deep cleaning, organizing, and sorting.  My dad hung up some pictures and NIB Mini Lalaloopsies for me and also tidied up my entire carport.  I could NOT have done it without them!  I was just getting to the point where I was too overwhelmed to know what to do next, but now I'm feeling much better about having eleven ladies over in one week. :}

Tomorrow, I'll be packing, taking a few pics for a LONG overdue Jane Austen and Unicorns post, and dusting/rearranging my doll displays.  My room will be one of the highlights for my visitors next week, so I want to make sure everything looks just right. ;)

We're all getting super excited for our trip this weekend.  We decided to keep the girls home from school Friday so we can have a nice leisurely morning and then get an early start on our trip.

Speaking of our trip, I made an interesting discovery today (which may show you how out of the loop I've been for the past week).  As I mentioned before, one of our planned stops is a Disney Store, and Middle Gal and Little Gal are wanting to get Elsa and Anna fashion dolls.  When I looked at Disneystore.com yesterday, though, I noticed that the only doll listed as available was Kristoff (and Anna was the only toddler doll left).  Then, today I noticed that the Anna and Elsa dolls from the Disney Store were going for over $100 on eBay!  That made me a bit concerned, so I looked up the number of the Disney Store we're going to and gave them a call to see if they had any of the dolls in stock.  The employee (or "cast member", I suppose I should say) ;) said that the only Frozen doll they had in the store was Toddler Anna.  She said that the Frozen stock has been flying off of the shelves. They'll get a new shipment in, and within two days, it's gone.  Incredible.

This is really cool news for the Disney company, and it shows just how popular the movie is.  Ever since I began actively collecting Disney Store dolls in 2010, I've never seen a run on first wave dolls like this.  Usually they're clearanced out and then the second, less-detailed "classic" wave is introduced the following summer.

I'm glad I called ahead, because now I can prepare my little gals.  Both of them will be pretty disappointed.  The nice thing is, even if the first wave dolls don't come to the store again, they'll at least have the second wave dolls in at some point, so eventually Elsa and Anna will join my daughters' collections.

Meanwhile, I'm really thankful I snagged mine when I did, and I'm wishing my budget had allowed for purchasing the awesome Elsa and Anna Deluxe Fashion Doll set before it sold out. :(  I couldn't justify spending $70 on the set, but that sounds a lot better than the over $100 it's selling for now on eBay! :}

I'm wondering if there will even be much of a Frozen display at the Disney Store.  If they're out of a lot of the stock, it may be a pretty tiny section. :(  At least there will still be lots of other fun things to see there. :)

And, of course, Build-A-Bear and the AG Place will be wonderful, too! :)  I'm really looking forward to making more memories with my girls and my mom and aunt.  We always have a great time together.

Well, I should go.  I have to finish sorting the stuff on my bed so Hubby and I can actually sleep there tonight. ;)  Have a wonderful remainder of the week, everyone! :)

J.C.Penney has 'disney store' dolls believe it or not. But brace yourself. They have no arm articulation! They're dresses are also simple:/ but they have the same faces. and They are cheaper. I don't know much about them but maybe you could do a little research before your trip (have a fun time by the way!)

That sounds great, Nina. I'll look forward to seeing your AG Anna dress. :)

Sorry you haven't gotten your Frozen dolls yet...hope you can find them!

Thanks, BlackKitty...I WAS feeling rather heroic yesterday. ;)

Thanks, Gracie! :)

Lol, Anonymous, I was just reminded of this when I read Emily's latest post on The Toy Box Philosopher (http://www.toyboxphilosopher.com/2014/01/frozen-dolls-from-jc-penney-and-disney.html) Believe it or not, I only discovered the Disney Store-like section in my local JC Penney's about a week ago (I never go in there!). I'm definitely considering looking into those dolls, though, and offering that as an alternative for my girls. :) Thanks for the tip!

Sorry to hear that, Ampy. :( It is exciting to see how well the merchandise is doing, but it's disappointing for those who haven't gotten the dolls yet.

Thanks...we're leaving first thing tomorrow and all super excited! :D

Off topic, but I can't remember if I told you to check out Lulemee on Flicker. She customizes Disney dolls. I think you'd love seeing her stuff.

Oh, wow! I knew the Frozen dolls had sold out online, but I was hoping they were simply diverting the stock to the stores. I need to snag at least one Classic Elsa for future Pullip purposes. :D

Now I'm tempted to take the Anna I squirreled away before Christmas (it just figures, I'd buy the Anna doll and end up preferring Elsa) and put her on eBay to pad out the Pullip customizing fund!

Have fun on your trip! :D

Hi Tam, you did let me know about Lulemee. :) I especially love her Frozen customs! :)

I hope you can find your Elsa, Jen! If you want to sell your Anna, now would definitely be the time, before everyone sees how much they're going for on eBay and the market floods. ;)

Can't wait to see your custom Elsa, if you get to make her. :)

Awww I'm so sad Elsa and Anna are sold out. I missed out on my pair, just like your daughters. But I've read they'll be restocked by mid-February or so... who knows? I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Sorry about that, honeysucklejasmine. I hope you'll be able to get them! It would be wonderful if they got more in this month. :)
