Happy Resurrection Day, everyone! :)
Yesterday, my daughters colored eggs and then did an egg hunt with their cousins. It was so much fun watching them spend time together. :)
Today is reserved for celebrating the resurrection of Christ. This is the most important day in Christian history. Jesus died to take the punishment for our sin, but if He hadn't risen again and conquered death, His death would be pointless, just another tragic loss of a "good man."
I know that not all of you hold the same beliefs I do, but I hope you won't mind my excitement today. I am so thankful for my Lord and Savior, and this day in particular fills me with joy and gratitude.
As usual, today in church we're doing a special program for Easter. I thought I would share the lyrics of my favorite song from this year's assortment: "Here At the Cross," written by David Moffitt and Sue C. Smith.
Here at the cross,
where the lost are found forever.
Here at the cross,
where the blind receive their sight.
How the nails have pierced my heart,
And I bow in glad surrender.
Here at the cross,
where my Jesus bled and died.
Here where the cry
of the Savior splits the darkness.
Here where His life
is so fragile yet divine.
It's the wonder of His grace,
and the love that I remember.
Here at the cross
it's redemption that I find.
Here I am free,
although once a slave now rescued.
Here I am strong,
although once in gravest plight.
And the treasure of His love,
making rich the helpless beggar.
Here I am clean,
and the crimson stain now white.
Here at the cross,
with forgiveness offered freely.
Here where the Lamb
opens wide salvation's door.
All my past is burned away,
glory rising from the embers.
Here at the cross,
praise His name forever more!
Here at the cross,
called the humble Man of Sorrows.
Up from the grave,
see Him rise, oh glorious morn.
Now in power He ascends,
robed in majesty and splendor,
Reigning on high,
King of kings and Lord of lords.
I hope you all have a blessed Easter Sunday. :)
