Beautiful BFC Ink Clothes on EBay

Okay, I was going to wait to mention this seller until I'd actually seen her items in person, but I'm too jazzed about her items to wait. ;)

Cottoncandy1288 is a fairly new seller on eBay, but her beautifully detailed handmade items for BFC Ink dolls (and one for Barbies) are sure to catch a buyer's eye.  Her current listings include dresses, jackets, pants suits, and more.  Many of her items come with accessories such as shoes, earrings, or necklaces.  I've included pics of two of my favorites from her listings to whet your appetite, but any of you who are looking for extra BFC Ink outfits are definitely going to want to take a closer look.  You can see all of her eBay items HERE.

Happy bidding! :)

New AG Store Coming to San Francisco Area!!! :D

Oh.my.goodness!!!  I'm practically hyperventilating here!!  I just found out from American Girl's Facebook Page that a new AG Place is coming to the San Francisco area this fall!!  At last, a store that I could realistically get to!  (LA and Seattle are just a bit too far for practicality.)  San Fran is still a bit of a trip, but much closer than the other two locations.

So who knows?  Maybe this fall my mom, my aunt, my girls and I will have to plan a road trip to experience our first AG Place visit! Eep!!!  I'm so excited! :)

Is anyone else looking forward to the new store?

Tonner Doll Size Comparison

As promised, here is a quick post comparing the Tonner Tyler Wentworth doll I found to some of the other doll lines I have around the house. :)

The lineup:  Tonner Tyler Wentworth, Moxie Teenz Bijou, Pullip Peter Pan, LIV Daniela, Disney Store 12" Belle, Moxie Girlz Bryten Rapunzel (you can click on this picture to make it larger)

It's funny how small Bijou looks next to Tyler. :}  I took all of the dolls shoes off to give a more accurate comparison.

I thought I'd go ahead and give a closer look at the other dolls as well.

Bryten is currently wearing a Bratzillaz outfit.

Tyler is now safely on her way to her new owner.  I hope she enjoys her! :)

I've been hard at work on my LIV/Pullip/Moxie Teenz post.  A couple of the pictures turned out blurry so I had to retake them.  I should have it up within a day or two. :)

A New Ad Option

Hi guys!  So, the blog ad thing has been a little slow...as in...no takers whatsoever yet.  Which is totally fine.  ;)  I know it takes time for things to catch on, and I know how to be patient (most of the time). ;)

I'd really like to know whether Passionfruit ads appeals to those making ads as much as it appeals to those selling ads.  I've also had a few people agree to donate items for blog giveaways.  While mulling over these two thoughts last night, I had an idea.

If you head on over to my Sponsor page, you'll find that there is now a 4th option for ads.  If there are any of you out there who are interested in donating an item for a blog review and giveaway, I'd like to offer you a free month of advertising on Never Grow Up.

Here's how it will work.  Contact me via email at nevergrowup.beastsbelle@gmail.com to discuss the item details.  You could donate something as small as a doll scarf or hat or something as big as an entire doll outfit.  I want this to work for you.

Once we've worked out the details, you can purchase your ad.  You'll want to select the "Giveaway VIP" ad and use the promo code "VIP" at checkout, which will give you a 100% discount. ;)  You can create your ad on Passionfruit.com, and Passionfruit will send me an email asking for my approval.

Because I want to have guidelines set up for all future transactions, I will not run the ad until I receive the giveaway item.  Once it is in my hands, I will do a detailed review post and host a giveaway, at which time I will approve your ad and it will run for 30 days for FREE, my "thank you" to you.

I am extremely interested in hearing back from those of you who choose to take me up on this offer.  I'd especially like to know if you found Passionfruit ads uncomplicated and user-friendly.

As I said in an earlier post, I'm just experimenting with some of these things.  I like the idea of Passionfruit because I'm able to have a little more control over what appears on my blog.  But if this doesn't work, I may try something different in the future, such as Google ads.  Please be patient with me as I try to figure out what's best for my blog, my readers, and me. :}

Some Disney Store News

Hi everyone!  Just wanted to share some news from the Disney Store.  First, Disneystore.com is offering  free shipping on your entire order when you purchase anything from their Disney Parks merchandise and apply the code PARKFREE.  You can see all of their Disney Parks items HERE.

Also, the Disney Store is hosting an exciting sweepstakes contest:  a trip for one winner and 3 guests to New Fantasyland in Walt Disney World! :D  I did a post about this not too long ago, which you can see HERE.  I've also pinned several videos of the Beast's castle and some of the other New Fantasyland attractions on my "Beauty and the Beast" Pinterest board HERE.  And to see the official New Fantasyland website, click HERE.

The sweepstakes run from February 4th to March 3rd.  You can enter either online (click HERE for more details) or in stores.  If I read the rules correctly, you're only supposed to enter once, so you choose one or the other (but you can read the official rules and verify this for yourself). ;)

This trip includes round trip airfare and lodging, so it's great for those of us on the other side of the country, too. :)  Other runner up prizes include a $100 gift card to the Disney store for 5 first place winners and a $25 gift card to the Disney Store for 25 second place winners (hey, I'd be happy with those!). ;)  Wouldn't it be fun if one of us won something? :D

I'm currently working on several posts, including the requested comparison of Pullip, Moxie Teenz, and LIV articulation, so look for one or two new posts later this week.  Also, Belle, Maggie and Tess wanted me to assure all of you that they are working on posts for their blogs as well.  We'll  let you know when those are up.

Talk to you soon! :)

Beast'sbelle's Bakery, Compliments of "My Froggy Stuff" :)

I've mentioned on this blog before how much I enjoy My Froggy Stuff's YouTube tutorials.  Every time I watch one of her videos, I get this overwhelming urge to go stock up on pony beads, buttons, craft foam, and card stock. ;)

It's been a while since I've tried out one of her crafts, and I wanted to do something special with the girls this weekend.  I've been struck lately with how quickly the time is flying by with my children.  I'm ashamed to admit that so often I don't take the time to enjoy things with them like I should.  You'd think a mom with a doll blog would be great at playing with her children, but I'm not.  Things get busy, they love playing together or by themselves, and I don't often stop to just spend this precious time with them.

So today, we decided to make doll bread, using THIS incredible tutorial.

We started with salt and flour dough:

Salt and Flour...

...with warm water added.

We made our doll culinary creations and baked them in the oven.

Then it was time to color them.  My Froggy Stuff suggested using eyeshadow from the dollar store.  We found this great palette of brown tones at our local Dollar Tree.  Using our fingers (Little Gal is graciously illustrating this for us in the above photo), ;) we rubbed the colors on our bread.

Then they looked like this.

After coating them with a layer of clear nail polish (also from Dollar Tree)...

...they looked like this...

...and my fingers looked like this! ;)  (I also ended up with a headache from the nail polish fumes, so make sure you do this in a well-ventilated area...or perhaps don't be quite as ambitious as I was and make a little less bread.) ;)

We left our bread out to dry:

And I got to work getting the eye shadow off of the kitchen table. ;)  Clorox wipes did the trick quite nicely.

In the end, we had a lot to show for all our labor. :)  I made some fun treats for my 18" dolls.

Maggie thought the rolls looked delicious. :)

But she also liked the pretzels...

...and the breadsticks (although she thought this one was a little too small).  Oh, and I did manage to get all of that stuff off of my fingers...just not before this photo was taken. ;)

Maggie's bread basket.

I also made a few things for my Barbie-sized dolls.

Belle was glad that I included something for her and her family. :)

I have to say, I'm quite pleased with how this roll turned out.  I think it's my favorite thing I made today.

Belle's bread basket (a random flash picture). ;)

I wanted to give the girls a chance to showcase their creations as well, so I had each of them do their own set up, and then I took the pictures. :)  All of the food you see in the following pictures was made entirely by them. :)

Here is Middle Gal's Snow White doll with her goodies.

Middle Gal made this blueberry pie from the salt and flour dough.  She used a blue marker to color the berries.

Some of her other rolls and breads.

Little Gal's Cinderella with her goodies.

Cinderella was very excited about this ginormous pie.  She seems to be checking to see if Prince Charming is near.  He'd better show up quickly, or there might not be any pie left. ;)

Cinderella's bread basket.

Oldest Gal's Josefina with her goodies.

Oldest Gal had the idea to put flour on Josefina's cheeks to make it look like she was in the process of baking the bread.

A few sweets.

A tasty breadstick.

Oldest Gal also made some Barbie-sized goodies, so I let her do another set up with her Disney dolls.  She had a very involved story figured out here.  Belle was going to run an errand, and Bill (her Prince doll), thought she was going out with her friends, so he got a hot dog and some pizza dough to make a pizza, but then Belle unexpectedly came back with goodies. :)

Belle with her things from her errand.

I love the cute little roll Oldest Gal made. :)

Bill with his hot dog and pizza dough.  There was one color in the eye shadow that was the perfect hot dog color!

Yum!

We had a great time today.  It was involved, and I was pretty tired by the end of it.  My dirty dishes are still in my sink and I'm super behind on laundry, but I spent quality time with my girls today, and that's what's important. :)

The thing I loved about this project was that it was great for all three girls.  The dough was simple to make and work with.  Each of the girls were able to come up with their own unique ideas as they made their food. The eye shadow was fun to apply and easy to clean up, and the girls learned a lot about shading and blending as they worked with it.  The project was simple enough that each of the girls ended up with pleasing results, but it was limitless enough for each of them to do things on their own level.  I loved watching their creativity come out in different ways, from Little Gal's bananas and blueberries (not captured in the photos), to Middle Gal's idea to use the darker eye shadow on the bottom of the bread to make it look more authentic (we all stole her idea after that!), to Oldest Gal's pizza dough, complete with plastic wrap, everyone brought something fun and unique to the table as we worked together.

So thanks, My Froggy Stuff, for providing a great day for me and my girls. :)  And if any of you moms out there are looking for a good weekend project to do with your kiddos, I would highly recommend this one. :)
