A couple of weeks ago, my mom was wandering through the "Back to School" section at Walmart and saw these adorable locker chandeliers. And of course, she immediately thought of our dolls. ;) She ended up purchasing one and was kind enough to let me open it and do a review. (Thanks, Mom!) :D
Here it is in the package.
The picture on the back of the box, showing how it works.
It comes with a instruction page.
Here it is out of the package. As you can see, it hangs just a wee bit crooked, but it's not all that noticeable. My hubby actually saw these in the store and was not impressed with their quality. I think Mom and I are a little easier to please along that line. ;)
The chandelier includes batteries.
The round part at the top has 3 strong magnets that hold it up in your locker. All you'd need to do for a doll room is attach a piece of metal to the ceiling for the chandelier to hang on. The top is also where you put in the batteries (there are 3 tiny screws you unscrew to open it...I'd already removed 2 of them when I took the picture).
The chandelier has a switch to control the light. The "O" is the off position, the "I" is the motion-sensor setting (especially convenient for locker use), and the "II" is the continuous setting (so the light stays on no matter what). Side note here: I must apologize for the state of my nails. I'd just finished sharpening all of the girls' school pencils before I did this review, and didn't notice that I had pencil lead under my nails until after I'd taken all of the pics. :}
Here are the motion sensors.
And here is the chandelier all lit up. It is REALLY bright, by the way! ;)
And just to give you an idea of how ADORABLE it looks in the doll world, I held it up in Hayden's doll room. Must.resist.urge.to.go.to.Walmart. ;}
And here it is next to Hayden, so you get an idea of the scale, both on...
...and off (with the camera flash on).
Items in the seasonal section of Walmart tend to go pretty quickly, so if you're interested in one of these for your doll room, you'll probably want to go pick one up sooner rather than later. They are $14.95 each (or thereabouts). That's a bit spendier than my mom and I prefer for our doll items, but compared to what something similar would cost at American Girl, it's still a bargain. There's a black chandelier in this same design, and some round lamps that also hang from the ceiling (I think there are about 5 different patterns/colors on those ones).
You can also get these on Amazon.com (they have pics of a few of the other designs too), but they cost $10 more. Check them out HERE.
Hope you all enjoyed the post. :) I'll be back with more Blogoversary stuff later. :)

I can not wait to see the giveaways! :D Anyways, I love that chandelier! I want Mosi! She is so cute. D: I love your blog! I have been waiting for a new blog and you have pleased me. :) When you going to write the giveaways? I can not wait! :)
Hi All AG. I'm glad you're so excited. :) The giveaways should be up sometime tomorrow evening (Pacific Time) or Friday morning at the latest. I'm watching my 5 month old niece for most of the day tomorrow, so it just depends on how my time goes. :)
That is just tooooo adorable. Why am I hearing POTO looking at that chandeleir? :-P
Hiiiii Beast'sbelle! Nice chandelier! Your 18'' dolls sure have a wonderful home! By the way, are you going to review the new Cinderella and Snow White? If you do, could you please please add some pictures of the new Belle in the wardrobe set? Just for curiosity! :D Thanks!
Thanks, girls. :)
Alexandra, I loved your comment. :D Hmm, they did make a Barbie-sized Phantom doll a while back... (Evil plotting begins). ;)
MulanFan_95, I am still planning on doing Cinderella and Snow White's reviews, but I'm waiting until things die down this week.
I hadn't thought of doing pics of the new Belle in the Wardrobe set...you're talking about the one that's currently at the Disney Store, right? I'll see what I can do. ;)
Thanks for sharing the info on the chandelier. I couldn't resist running right out to the local WM and getting one. I also got a round mirror that's part of the same collection. I don't have a doll room, but I'm thinking I can fix a space for Emily on one shelf of the metal shelving unit in my sewing room.
No problem, Carolyn. :) I'm sure Emily will love her new things. :)
Cute find
Thanks :)
